CDRW Support & Drivers
    Philips
  • CLICK HERE for the Philips download page for the CDD3600 model CDRWs for Windows 95 & 98 (drivers for all Philips CDRWs are here).
Note: It seems that Philips has updated their website and removed support & drivers for all of the older drives. I'll leave this link here for a while -- just in case they put it back.
  • CLICK HERE for Windows 98 Drivers for the Philips CDD 2600 and other Parallel Port SCSI CDRWs (Shuttle Loader).
  • CLICK HERE for Windows 2000 Drivers for the Philips CDD 2600 and other Parallel Port SCSI CDRWs (Shuttle Loader).
  • CLICK HERE for Windows 98 Drivers for the Philips CDD3610 (3615) model and other Parallel Port IDE (ATAPI) CDRWs (Shuttle Loader).
  • CLICK HERE for Windows 2000 Drivers for the Philips CDD3610 (3615) model and other Parallel Port IDE (ATAPI) CDRWs (Shuttle Loader).
Note about this drive: If you're tired of trying to get this drive to work in Windows 2000 as a parallel port drive, consider using it as an internal IDE drive. All you have to do is:
      (1) Remove the exterior case
      (2) Unplug the IDE, audio and power cables from the drive
      (3) Take the drive out of the enclosure
      (4) Install it into an empty drive bay. (check the jumper settings for master/slave, depending on your configuratin).
This drive is simply an internal CDD3610 adapted to an external parallel port model. For Windows 2000 or XP to recognize it as a CDRW, as with any CDRW, you'll need to have ASPI drivers (download below) loaded, and that's all you need. You won't need the Shuttle drivers mentioned above & elsewhere.
  • User's manual for the Philips CDD 3615 (3610) External Parallel CDRW Drive -- CLICK HERE for the Acrobat .pdf file.
If you don't have Adobe Acrobat, CLICK HERE to download it.
  • CLICK HERE for the Philips Website Home.

    Adaptec Drivers
  • Adaptec's new ASPI layer (v4.70) for using SCSI and IDE CDR and CD-RW devices with Windows 98, Me, NT, 2k and XP (this one is available to all--get it while you can)
Note: If you don't have your IDE CDR or CD-RW drivers installed already and Windows XP does not recognize your CDR/CD-RW drive, installing the ASPI layer above should do the trick.
